New User Trying to Display Multiple Layers on Single Button

Feb 16, 2015

I'm a new user trying to get oriented.  I've created a practice slide with a couple of different buttons with each supposed to activate different layers depending on which button is pressed.  I can't get any more than two layers to activate together for each button.

Hi Ashley,

Thank you for your response.

I've attached a file with the screen I've been playing with (at least I think I did).  It was done in the trial version and I'm really just trying to play with some of the functions to familiarize myself with how they work.  I've watched a couple of the tutorials so far.

Basically, I just inserted a few objects in layers with a couple of buttons (regular and radio), with the idea that each of the buttons would manipulate some of the layers.  The radio button is supposed to make the text in the caption appear as well as the ruler, and the regular button was supposed to make the ruler disappear, make the space man appear, and keep the text in the caption box which disappeared when I hit the regular button.  For some reason I could only get two of those three things associated with the regular button to happen.

I'm not sure at what state my practice screen is now as I've been manipulating a bunch of different ways to try to get it to work.

Have a look at the attached file and see if that`s what you wanted. To show more than one layer, make sure that under slide layer properties, the Hide Other Layers option is not selected. To be honest, I don`t see the need for using layers here at all. All the items could be on the baselayer and you could hide or show them as the buttons are clicked.
