So in my total frustration with Articulate and my triggers that continually stop working, I discovered today that all of my previous and next buttons have stopped working. When I am in preview mode, the buttons are there on the bottom of the screen, but hovering over them does not show the finger and clicking them does nothing. I delete the trigger and add it again, still nothing. Please help. I have spent countless hours on this project and right now it is totally useless without the triggers actually working.
I'm sorry to hear about the situation you've run into - and without a project file to look at it's difficult to say. Are you using Storyline 2? If so, the restricted or locked navigation of Storyline will also impact the player button behavior and the user won't be able to advance to the next slide until the timeline ends.
Also, you'll want to confirm you're using local project files as described here.

I saved the file as a different project, restarted AS and the buttons work again. It must have been a glitch in that file.
