I created a menu and disabled the player Next button until all the menu items had been visited. I used the True/False variable and everything works (the Next button is disabled and the menu items change their state to show they have been visited), until the very last step.
When I create a new trigger that changes the state of the Next button to Normal after the menu items have been visited, it isn't working. When I preview the scene, Next stays stubbornly Disabled even though the menu items show they have been visited.
Change state of Next button to normal 'when timeline starts' on slide xx on condition that menu item x = visited and menu item y = visited etc for all menu items

Hi Pamm
are the menu items taking the user to other slides or layers?
Might be easier for someone to help you if you can upload your story file.
Hi Wendy
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
The menu items go to other slides.
Hi Pamm
then change your trigger to:
Change state of Next button to normal 'when timeline starts' on slide xx on condition that menu item x = visited and menu item y = visited etc for all menu items
Hi Wendy
That's what I did and it's not working. :-(
Can you upload your storyfile?
Hi Wendy, here it is.
Hi Pamm
as per my post above, it was to change the trigger to 'when timeline starts' you had when states change.
See updated file
Aha! It works!
I'm still not very confident with conditions and how they work and what they can do.
Thank you so much.
No worries, when you have a main menu slide that you leave and come back to the best trigger to use is 'when timeline starts' in most cases.
If you get stuck just shout out - someone is sure to help you out...good luck with your project Pamm!
Thanks so much, Wendy. I really appreciate it.
