Notes tab not working...

In the past, the notes tab has worked perfectly fine for me. However, today it's giving me a bit of grief. See below image:

I've even tried reverting back (in a new file) to the default layout (Menu and Notes in the sidebar) without changing the text label to Transcript (keeping it as notes) and it's doing the same thing.

Any ideas? SL has never done this to me before with the notes tab...are there poltergeist in my computer today?
