Odd Behavior: Continue button in Quiz Question Feedback

Aug 19, 2020

We can across something strange today. Using Storyline 360 (3.36.21289), we created a quiz. When you answer the question, the feedback and Continue button display.

We've found two scenarios:

  1. The Continue button overlays one of the answer options: When a user hovers over the Continue button in IE 11 (yes, we have to support this), the only area that remains clickable is the outer edge of the button. You cannot click anywhere on or within the word "Continue."  In Chrome, the button works as expected.
  2. The Continue button sits outside the answer area: You can click the button as expected in both IE 11 and Chrome.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, is there a way to alter the Feedback master or question to overcome the bug in IE 11? We can certainly move the Continue button, but that might be difficult in some situations. Custom buttons do not seem to work.

Here's the sample that I used to test what we were seeing in our course: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/68761916-aa2b-45d0-bd65-777fae3d1b99/review

Thanks all!

Hi Sam. Thanks for testing. Your post triggered me to test it on my personal IE 11. The compatibility modes match, so I now suspect there's another setting in the work environment that's interfering (or they have some back-end compatibility setting that my home PC doesn't have).

For now, we'll just move the Continue button around, create a custom feedback screen, and pray we move away from IE 11.
