Overlapping audio when revisiting previous slides

Nov 09, 2023

Hi,

We have a course built with no animation but does include audio. Each slide has more than one audio file. When published for review and we select the previous button to move through and revisit slides in the course, the audio files on the previous slide plays as well as the slide being revisited. We have set a trigger to pause each of the audio files if the user selects the previous button and the slide setting is to "Automatically Decide". Are there any suggestions to help us fix this?

Hi Krista,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Just to be sure I understand, I have a few quick questions.

  • Are you hearing audio from only two separate slides simultaneously, or are you hearing the audio intended for the entire course (for example, Background Audio) and slide-specific audio in the same slide you are revisiting?
  • When revisiting a slide, what would you like to have happen with the audio?  Do you want your learners to listen to the audio again or just see the slide with elements completed?

It would be helpful to take a closer look at your setup to get a better idea of recommendations. Could you please share your .story file in this thread or privately in a support case

Looking forward to hearing from you! ✨

I am hearing audio from two seperate slides simultaneously. When revisiting, the slide should start with the audio from the initial state and the learner should only hear audio from the slide being revisited. The audio from the previous slide the learner was viewing should be paused. I have shared the file via case number 03952366. Thank you.
