Overlapping text on layers between slides

Sep 19, 2023

This problem has stumped me for weeks, so any assistance is very much appreciated!

I have built a budget scenario using sliders. I have used layers attached to the value on the slider to include a text description.

If the learner calculates their initial budget to 15, no problem.

The problem comes in when they have to click "Previous" to go back and see their work. The layers (with the descriptions) now all overlap. (See the screenshot.)

1) How do I get the layers to not overlap when moving between slides?

2) Is there a way to have the total variable to calculate automatically without using the "Calculate" button?

3) When going between slides, how do I get this total variable to keep its value? (Example, if I go forward and then come back, how can I get the total of "15" to stay there without having to use the "Calculate" button again?)

I have attached my simplified file as well as a screenshot of the issue for anybody who has tips to help get me over the hump.

Thanks!

Hi Tara. I had a few minutes to troubleshoot your project and am happy to report things are now working as you intended. There were a number of triggers in place that were causing confusion. I've gotta step away for the evening else I would take the time to lay out everything I did :)

*UPDATE: Found a little more time to update the interaction on slide 1.3.
