You can place a button on a slide layer and tick "Pause timeline of base layer" in the slide layer properties. Then just place a trigger on the button to "hide this layer" when user clicks.
Leaving the default slide layer setting to "Automatically Decide" when revisiting will probably be enough in this case. If not, then setting your slide layer to "Resume saved state" will do the trick.

can I stop the timeline for spesific layer?
