PDF in Lightbox does not display when published to SharePoint

Nov 21, 2016

I created a course and instead of using the "resources" tab, I want to use the lightbox for users to access PDFs.  When I publish the project to my desktop and preview, the PDFs launch with no problem. But when I upload the project into SharePoint  and click the links to the PDFs, they don't launch.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong or alternative suggestions?

Hi Dawon,

I'm not incredibly familiar with Sharepoint - but perhaps they're blocking access to the PDF files? Have you looked at testing it out in any other web server environments to see? You could use one of the options mentioned in this article such as Amazon S3.  This is a great article on how to utilize Amazon S3.

Hi Dawon,

So it seems like Sharepoint doesn't like how the PDF is embedded in a lightbox alone. Did you do that as web object or an image of the PDF? Perhaps if it's the ligthbox Sharepoint is tripping on, you could create a "fake" lightbox using layers? This is Storyline 1, but you could do similar in Storyline 2.
