I've got a number of PDFs in my Resource tab. When I publish the story, all work except for one. I've reinserted it a number of times, but no luck. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be? I'm using Storyline 2.
It is hard to know without seeing it. What is it doing when you click? An error or a blank white screen in the browser? Are there any strange characters or spaces in the name of the PDF? Check out your published story_content\external_files\ folder for the file that should open and run it to see what it does. It should be fine but check the case of the letters against the file in that folder. Strange characters and incorrect cases can cause a file not to be found when on some servers.
was the PDF you are trying to link to located on your local drive or a network drive? It is best to have all the assets for your .story file located locally before you publish.
In addition to the other suggestions, you may want to also try a few things to rule out some common issues: Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline.
Yes, as Christie and Wendy mentioned you'll want to confirm you're working with all local project files, and I'd include the PDFs you're linking to in that as well (unless their hyperlinks). Also, once you're ready to test you'll want to place within the intended environment as testing locally could cause elements/features of your content to fail.

Hi Michelle,
As david said seriously it is really hard to know without seeing it, add some screen shorts or you can also add story file if you want to.

HI Wendy
Thanks for your suggestions. The files are located on a network drive, so will try storing them locally to see if that helps.
Many thanks
Michelle

Thanks all for your tips, working like a dream now :-)
Yay!
Awesome Michelle - thanks for the update.
Delighted to hear it, Michelle! :)
