Percent Complete Tracker

Oct 31, 2014

I have two questions that relate to the same project that I'm working on. Within a single page I will have 3 variables each with 3 different choices. For the sake of this example let's say the variables are "length", "width", and "height". Length will have 3 choices: L1, L2, and L3 and the other 2 variables having similar choices (W1, W2, W3) and (H1, H2, H3).

With 27 different combinatorial choices it would be easy for a user to move on to another page without reviewing all of the 27 scenarios. I'd like to assist the user by providing them a visual indicating how many scenarios have been reviewed. It could be a counter I.e. 25 of 27 complete or 87% complete which would alert the user they have not looked at each combination of variables.

As each 3 set of variables are selected I would like a panel to open up providing them some form of result / feedback. Upon closure of the panel I want hem to return to the page where all variables are "unelected" and ready for another set of selected variables to open up yet another panel for feedback. How is it that I can erase the previously selected variables so that another scenario can be evaluated?

Thank you,  Michael

Hi Michael, you could create 27 slide layers for each of the different combinations.

Create you buttons on the base layer that the user can click and on each button have a trigger to adjust that particular variable when its state is selected.

Then set triggers up to jump to the various layers on the conditions that the 3 variables are selected.

On each layer you will need a trigger to adjust the variables back to their original setting on the timeline start of that layer.

Put a button on each layer with a trigger to jump to this same slide when pressed and in the slide setting change it to Reset to Initial State on revisiting.

That should cover the navigating.

Think there are examples of progress meters in the Downloads section of this site that might assist in keeping track of where the user is up to.

Shaun.
