Personalizing a course with learner name?

I'm working with one of the templates from this site - Air Mail - and in it, the learner is asked to enter their name. On subsequent slides the value the learner entered is included in the content.

However, when I publish out, the value I type in doesn't match, and it shows the code vs. my name (%yourname%).

What do I need to do to change the trigger to get the value type to display?
