Pick One Issue

May 23, 2013

Hello

I've created a Pick One slide (attached). The 5 original images on the Pick One slide are all different shapes / sizes and I want to shuffle them as answers. As the shapes differ, when they are shuffled the alignment of the images goes crazy! To try to deal with this I have put a similar sized box shape around each image, made it transparent and grouped it together with the image. This gives me 5 groups that are now all the same size (outlined with the green line). The alignment now remains stable even when the groups are shuffled. That is all fine but I now cannot seem to select the groups as part of the Pick One slide!? Without the grouped box my Pick One slide was set up to submit the interactioon as soon as any of the images was selected. That worked fine. When I try to do the same with these new grouped images the selection doesn't work!

I'm stumped so any help would be gratefully received.

Hi there Paolo,

Thanks for sharing the file! :)

I took a look and it appears to be an issue with the triggers submitting the interaction when the groups are selected. I removed those triggers and tried submitting using the "Submit" button and all goes well.

Do you want to have this automatically submit when the user selects any of the items? If so, you could add a "Selected" state for the images, then add a trigger that submits the interaction when any of those objects are selected.

It would look something like this:

I added the selected state to the objects you already had on the slide and set up the trigger.

Take a look at the modified file and let me know if this works for you.

Thanks!
