Player buttons appear when re-visiting a slide

Aug 10, 2015

I have a question slide with a PREV and SUBMIT button.  When the question is submitted, there is a CONTINUE button within the on screen feedback.

After I've submitted my response and received feedback, I click the PREV button to review information on the previous slide.  From there, I click NEXT to return to the question slide.  The question slide kept it's state (didn't reset) as intended but now there's a NEXT button instead of a SUBMIT button.  Clicking the NEXT button doesn't do anything.

I don't want to see that NEXT button.  It's unchecked for this slide, yet appears when I revisit the slide.  Can I do anything about this other than setting the slide to its initial state upon re-visiting?

Hi Maggie,

The previous and next buttons will appear on a revisit regardless so that the user has a way to navigate the course. If you are using the "continue" button have you set the triggers to hide the layer and/or jump to the next slide? If you remove the trigger to "hide the layer" will the "prev" button bring you back to that point - allowing the user to continue to use the "prev" button or the continue button to advance?

It may help if you're able to share the .story file here with us so that we could take a look at what you're setting up.
