I've never heard of this issue but can think of a few things it might be. I would suggest submitting a case with Articulate as it will probably be the quickest way to find a resolution for you - http://www.articulate.com/support/contact/
Hmm...the link isn't working for me, but sometimes you can get that type of error if you run out of system memory/ram.
How does your computer stack against the software requirements? If you think it may be a system performance issue, you can use a system monitor gadget to check out what's going on with your memory/cpu when the problem happens.
Some of the earlier Windows 7 PCs put just enough memory to run Win7 and had difficulty running other apps. Hope you find a fix soon!

By chance have you tried something like importing a part of the PowerPoint? If that works, then maybe importing the next.
While not a solution, if it works, you could continue your trial.
