Preview in StoryLine does not match published content

Jun 21, 2013

I saw that this was an issue previously but had been "patched". I have the latest version and updates on storyline and I have tried multiple browsers in case this is a browser issue.

There are other issues, but right now, the biggest issue at the moment with preview and published not matching is the colors for text and selected text in the glossary section. No matter what I select for glossary - the published version always has black text. Which is a problem because the background is set to black.

 This is the preview version:

This is the published version:

any ideas on how to fix this?

(yes I am running the published version on a web server, it is the HTML 5 output, and I have opened it in Chrome, FireFox, and I.E.)

Hi Spring,

Well, that limits troubleshooting just a bit :) I do understand, though - hopefully we can figure out what's causing this, but it would be much faster if we could actually test the file.

Since you cannot send the course out are you able to try accessing it on another machine, or have you already had someone else take a look by any chance?

The only thing I can suggest at this point is to try clearing your browser cache, check your DPI, try importing the project into a new file and republish/reupload the project, or try publishing the course with a default player.

If the problem continues, it might be best to try contacting our support team. I'm sure they'll ask for the file as well, but hopefully they'll be able to give you some additional suggestions without it.
