Previous and Next Button missing on 1 slide.

May 11, 2021

I have Next and Previous on most of my slides but it is missing on one. I can't figure out how to add it to that slide. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Rosemary! Check the slide if the triggers for next and previous are present or enabled. If the triggers are already present and enabled, try creating buttons for next and previous then assigned triggers on them to move to the next or previous page when clicked. If you are still having issues, are you able to share a sample of the project here?

Hope this helps, let me know how it goes!

Here's how you can add triggers for the next and previous slides:

1. Click the Create a new trigger icon in the Triggers panel, or go to the Insert tab on the ribbon and click Trigger

2. Set Action to "Jump to slide" --> "Next slide" (change this to previous slide for the previous page trigger).

3. Set When to "user clicks or swipes" --> "Next" (change this to previous for the previous page trigger). Click OK.

Repeat these steps for your previous page trigger.

Here's how it should look like for the next slide trigger:

Hope this helps!

I found my answer. Somehow I had deleted the Player Trigger. I found this response on the Community and this fixed the issue.
Thanks for your help.

i Jon! It sounds like your player properties might've just gotten changed accidentally. If you click the gear icon in the lower-right of the layer pane (on the slide's base layer), you'll be able to customize the slide properties... just mark the Next button and, if you want the slide advance to be initiated by the learner, change the Slide Advance selector to By User rather than Automatic.
