Prezi Style Zoom Animations

Hey everyone!
I'm creating a training resource on a robotics platform. I need to present information on the controller (CPU) and then an array of motors and sensors. I'd like to make it as interactive as possible so instead of presenting each motor and sensor linearly I was thinking I would have an image of a testbed out with all of the motors and sensors. Once a user hovers and clicks on a motor or sensor they would zoom in on that component and learn more about it.
I can't seem to figure out how to do zoom animations in Storyline 2. I've used keyframes to accomplish this effect in Adobe Premiere. Any thoughts or pointers?

Zooms can not be done to layers.
I suggest that when the learners click on the object it jumps to a separate slide that looks like the starting slide but goes immediately to a zoom. include on this secondary slide a back button that returns the learners to the starting slide.

Here is how to add zoom regions, but as M mentioned you can't do it on a layer.
