Problem with grading in exported quiz

Jul 06, 2020

Hello - Am really new to storyline and our IT is also new so I hope I can find help here. I exported this quiz as complete/incomplete bc it is the only way to align that with our LMS Canvas - here are the issues

1. I export as SCORM 4th edition

2. I import it as a graded assignment in Canvas

3. I go and edit bc SCORM imports as 100 points value

4. I change the grade to complete/incomplete in Canvas to match the Storyline set up

5. ISSUES: There is no way for the system to enter the points when students PASS one question (5 points) and not both - students get a zero unless they pass both or unless I reduce the passing % down to 50%

6- ISSUES: Nothing seems to fix this grading issue I either end up with incomplete and zeros for all students or having to ask students to take an image of their score slide and I enter grades manually which beats the purpose of doing this work to begin with

What am I doing wrong? Last spring the same issue happened when I wanted the "view lecture slides" to count as a graded assignment and it ended up being a grading nightmare for me....  Am really excited about Articulate but am struggling because I don't have local help with our LMS IT -

They are very impressed with this platform and I really want to advocate for it in my institution so I need to know what I am doing right?

=)

Thank you for your help as I navigate through this awesomeness =)

Cheers

M

Hi Mariam,

Thanks for contacting us and sharing what you are experiencing in your published course.

I published and uploaded your course to SCORM Cloud for some comparison and got the expected results when answering one question correctly and one question incorrectly:

  • A 50% score
  • Incomplete - since I did not meet the required 70%

It sounds like the issue may be specific to your LMS and hopefully others in the community familiar with Canvas will be able to pop in and provide their best practices.
