Problem with scoring on LMS

Dec 01, 2015

Hi there

I have an LMS scoring question.  I have a module with two quizzes.  The users only complete one of the quizzes.  I have made a combination slide at the end that combines the scores for the 'pass' or 'fail' scenario for the LMS.  So that's great - users only have to complete one quiz and it should work out if they have passed correctly in the e-learning.

However, the problem comes in because the LMS (iLearn) records the score as being 50% less than the actual score (due to the user only having completed 50% of the quizzes).

Any ideas?  Is the only way for me to split this into 2 modules?  Or is there some setting I'm missing?

Kind regards
Robyn

Hi Robyn,

Have you looked at changing the passing percentage so that the user only has to pass the one quiz and overall that would set their score at 50% but that would be the overall passing rate on your results slide? There isn't a way within Storyline to ensure that the quiz is only scoring those questions that the user had the option of answering as the results slide has to be set to include all possible questions the user may answer.

Hi Ashley

Thanks, I thought as much.  The user unfortunately has to pass EITHER quiz (they only do one depending on the branch they take in the e-learning).  I tried setting the pass rate as half as much, which worked for the 'pass/fail' type scenario, but it's still unfortunately giving the incorrect result on the LMS (e.g. 50% instead of 100%).

As such, I've had to split this e-learning into two modules without the branching to combat the issue.  Thanks for your help anyway.

Kind regards
Robyn
