Problem with "Submit" button on drag and drop interaction
Jan 07, 2015
Hello,
I can't seem to get the "submit" button on my drag and drop interaction to work. At first I had to click the button twice to submit, but now the button isn't working at all. Wondering if anyone might be able to help? I currently have the settings:
Slide advances: by user
When revisiting: Rest to initial state
Results slide: none
I have a Prev, Next, and Submit button; feedback by question, and attempts set at unlimited.
Here is a link to the course. The slide in question is called "Ventajas", located about halfway down the list.
Thanks in advance!
Mike

Hello Michael, welcome to the community!
Would you be able to share the .story file for us to look at? You could strip it down to only this slide and one or two others. It would be helpful to see the set up of the slide.
Hey,
Here is a link to download the .story file with the two Drag and Drop interactions I'm having a hard time with. I separated them into their own session so it should be small enough. I tried attaching it, but it wouldn't work. Looking forward to your thoughts.

Hello Michael!
I took a look at the file. It seems you have a slide after these to show the correct answers. In the first one, the feedback was set up with feedback layers, but the second one there were no feedback layers set up. Do you want the built in feedback layers, or do you want them to just advance to the next layer after hitting submit?
i was able to get the submit button to work in the attached file, but without using the built in feedback slides. Let me know if this helps.
I'd like the interaction to give feedback to the user so they know if they got it right or wrong directly after hitting submit, and then have them be able to see the correct answers on the next slide. Can you think of any way to get the submit button to work with the feedback layers? Thanks!
Hello Michael!
I imported your file into a new file and the submit buttons work as designed with the feedback layers now. Please make sure that you are working locally with all of your files for editing and publishing.
Hey Emily,
Sorry for taking so long to reply. I am just now revisiting this issue and still having the same problems. I am working off a hard drive where I have all my files organized and saved. That shouldn't be an issue, right?
Thanks,
MIke
Hi Mike!
I looked over the file I attached, and I am still seeing the submit button working as designed. Are you testing the published file in its intended environment? Testing the published output on a local drive can cause security issues.
