Problems with Inserting Videos

Jun 19, 2015

First off, I'll admit I am brand new to Storyline and have zero programming background.

I am in an Instructional Design program and am practicing with the free trial of Storyline.

I'd like to insert videos on a few slides. This worked great yesterday. I was able to preview the slides and view the videos just fine. Now, I am having lots of problems.

Two of my three videos still appear in Story View but not on the actual screens. As in, the screens are empty, even though the videos appear in Story View. Another video won't unload anymore period.

I've tried shutting down and re-starting my computer and the program because that has helped resolve a few other issues, but I can't move on. I can't even delete the slides with videos I have currently and create them again. The videos aren't uploading properly.

The only solution I can think of is to upload them to YouTube and embed them in the course (if that works).

Has anyone else had these issues? Thanks in advance!

Hi Laura!

Sounds like you are having some random issues with your project. My first question would be are you working locally?

When creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Storyline courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. See this article for more information.

Please be sure that you are adding video to your course as explained here.
