Start a new project add picture and or boxes, then convert to freeform. Select Drag and Drop.
As soon as I click on the Drag Item pull-down or Drop location I get the list of objects....then the program just stops. My cursor still moves but program screen frozen. Only way out is via task manager to stop the application.
Any ideas?
Other freeform seem to work, well the ones i tried. New to the software.
You mentioned you're new to the software, can you tell me what version you're currently using? I assume if you just purchased or downloaded it you're running the latest version, but I just want to be sure. You can find this information by going to "Help" and "About Articulate Storyline".

If you've confirmed you're using Update 2, or if you've updated and the program is still freezing, can you confirm the content you're working with is local, please?
1. Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
3. Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Downloaded yesterday. Saving to my desktop. Although new to your software I'm a 3D graphics trainer so I fully understand the usual issues. I'm running it on Windows 7, Core 2 Quad, 6Gb, 1Tb with Dedicated 1Gb Nvid graphics card. Other apps work while I have this problem. However if I use Alt Tab and flick between apps when I try to return the Storyline although I have the option it doesn't let me. I have to minimise to see the Storyline window again. Just that the mouse doesn't seem to interact with the window.

Sorry, I have no way of knowing what experience a person has when they post a question, just want to make sure we cover the basics to start troubleshooting the issue Sometimes it's the small things that fix the biggest issues. Hopefully we'll be able to get this resolved for you quickly.
First, it sounds like this happens in any course you try to create, correct? If not, please try creating a new, blank course to see if the same thing happens. If it does, we'll need to take some additional steps. If it doesn't, it may be an issue with that particular file.
You may also want to ensure that you're currently using 96 DPI settings on the machine, if you haven't already.
