I am new...first project...I have set up several scenes. I need to figure out the following:
How do I progress a slide to a question bank slide. I have several questions at the end of each scene but when I preview the project, I can't progress from a slide to the question slides.
So that leads to the next challenge: If a question slide is the end of a scene, how would I progress from the question slide to the next slide of the next scene?
You'll need to set up triggers for this. Open your slide, go into the Triggers panel, and set up "Jump to Slide" triggers. You'll set them to the appropriate slide, and then to be triggered "when the user submits . . " (if you're jumping from a quiz to something else) or "when the timeline ends (if you're jumping from a plain slide to a quiz).
I am still confused because I think I have several user errors that I have created for myself. To understand your recommendation, I need to clarify the following:
1. I am in a regular slide that once visited, I want the learner to click the next slide to advance to a Quiz slide. To do that, I need to edit my existing player trigger from Jump to next slide to Jump to [specific Quiz question] slide.
2. Next, once in this specific quiz question slide I need to create a trigger to Jump to [specific Quiz question] slide, when the user submits…
If I have clarified your instructions, correctly, I can’t replicate this experience. I don’t have the option to “when the user submits…”
I always thought I could understand logic well until this app!

You're right, there is no "when user submits" -- sorry! Instead use "When user clicks . . ." and then use "Submit Button" for the object. The one tricky thing here is that you'll want to rearrange your triggers (using the up/down buttons on the triggers panel) so that the one reading "Submit interaction . . . " is first, so you don't leave the slide without submitting the quiz.
If you have a plain quiz slide -- not a question bank -- you can also open the quiz question, and use the More . . . buttons in the feedback area, and specify which slide to use for correct/incorrect responses. (Mine are usually the same, but if you're setting up branching based on the answers this is where it would happen.)
If you're on a question bank slide, you should see default actions to jump to previous/next slides. You can modify those to go to the slides you choose.
I am finding the quiz bank has created more heartache than anticipated. I am going to get rid of my question bank and just create the quiz slides as I go.
Figuring out how the quiz bank’s defaults affect triggers is very confusing to me. The word “random” is located in several areas of the bank that makes it confusing to determine what “randomness” you are affecting? Yes, I am getting more confused as I go, but I will get through this first experience somehow.
Thank you,
Kath
