Prompt to Resume vs Always Restart

Oct 25, 2021

Hello,

I have a lengthy course with 9 scenes. Users that take the course are able to resume where they leave off in Scenes 1-4 . However, if they leave and rejoin the course in scenes 5-9, it moves them back to Scene 4. What is the difference between the "Prompt to Resume" on restart vs "Always Resume" on restart? The course is currently set to "Prompt to Resume."  Would it make any difference and solve my issue if I changed it to "Always resume"?

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Brent! ⭐️

Storyline's built-in resume behavior will return the learner to where they left off, and they'll be able to proceed from there.

Here's a peek at the expected behavior for each option:

If you see something different, we'd be happy to take a look and offer suggestions tailored to your course! Feel free to share your file in this discussion, or connect with us here to keep it private. We'll be in touch shortly after!

Hello Team,

We have a course with 4 scene and the assessment. After completing all 4 scene if we take the assessment and we failed in the assessment and close the course. If next day if I take the course its asking me to take the whole course and then the assessment rather than I could directly take the assessment.

Please provide any solution on this.

Hi Dipu,

I'm sorry to hear about this trouble! If the resume feature is not working correctly for your course, it may have already exceeded the suspend_data limit for your selected learning standard. May I know what LMS you are using to test?

Also, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can check what's causing your course not to resume correctly? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

Thank you!
