Proofreading activity

Dec 05, 2023

Hi All

I am creating a grammar activity, where there is a sentence given and the learner should select where there is incorrect grammar on that sentence.

Once that is done, the correct layer or incorrect layer pops up depending on how the learner scores it.

PFA the SL file for your reference.

NOTE: On the file, the questions statements where the red highlighted words are those which the learner has to select it all, so that the correct layer pops up.
(the red highlight should not be visible while making the activity, this is only for reference.)

Can you please suggest how this can be created, or any SL files which were already build on e-learning heroes can you please share it so that I can have a reference to build this activity.

You could create this as a Freeform Pick Many question.

P.S. In your "correct" feedback, the semi-colon on the first line should be a comma. (I'd also add a comma after "friendly." However, I realize that the serial/Oxford comma can be controversial.)

Hi Judy

I have one more query.

I have created a proofreading activity, where the learner has to select specific words on the sentence which are incorrect. Once selected, the correct and incorrect layer appears.

However, if the learner thinks that the selected word which he has selected is wrong and wants to change the option by unselecting the word and then selecting some other word. Can it be possible to do it.

FYI, I have created rectangle boxes on every word and removed the outline and fill and I have given selected state. Can you please let me know what triggers or state to apply so that if the learner wants to unselect the option he can do so and if the learner has selected the correct and incorrect words the respective layer should pop up. Also, the answers of that quiz are given on the form view tab.

PFA my SL file for your reference.

I'll expand on Phil's answer. When an object has a Normal and a Selected state, it will automatically change to Selected when it is first clicked. It will change back to Normal if the user clicks it again. In other words, it toggles between Normal and Selected, without the need for any triggers.

Note: That behavior is a bit different if the object is part of a button set. When objects are in a button set, only one of them can be selected at a time. In other words, they function like the responses in a multiple-choice question.
