Provide user with text he can paste in text entry box
Sep 10, 2018
I am building a quiz where the student has to insert punctuation in a text. I'm using a Text Entry freeform question in SL360.
The slide comes up with a text box containing the text without any punctuation. The student has to write the text in the answer field with the correct punctuation.
I don't want the student to rewrite the whole text, because it will be a pain for the student and mostly because there is too much potential for typing mistakes.
I thought I would instruct the student to copy the text and paste it in the answer field and then add the punctuation, but it is not possible to copy text on a slide.
My question is: how to provide the basic text to the student, so he can paste it in the answer field and add punctuation?

Maybe this thread here provides a solution.
That works great! The only problem is where to host the text!
You can link to local html pages, which become part of the published content package. That's what I did for my example.
Well I tried, but I can't figure out how to link to a local HTML file from Storyline. Can you help me out on that?
Can anybody help me out on how to link to web object to a local HTML file?
Create the html file on your local computer (index.html) in its own dedicated folder, then insert a web object and choose your local folder.
Got it... it works. Thanks Michael!
