Publishing issues experience

Chat54 .
I have had some publishing issues with Storyline, I have carried out uninstalls and reinstalls and also updated to version 4, however it would appear that in the module I am trying to complete I have a rogue slide which is causing issues with Publishing as I have tried publishing a number of other modules with no problem. I have also twice now imported into a new storyline file to try and solve the publishing issue but that only seems to work for one or two publishes and then I am back to the same issue? I wonder before I start to strip the module down slide by slide if anyone has any suggestions or had a similar experience?
Thanks Chat54

Hi Chat54,
is the original coming from ppt(x) by any chance? I had similar problems when compiling my course which i previously imported from ppt(x). The isssue was that the original source had a hidden slide. SL doesn't like hidden slides

Thanks for the advice, I will check it out! I have already tried the virus scan and reboot nothing changed.

Just out of interest when storyline publishes it does by slide, i.e. 1,2, 3 etc.. therefore if I have 5 slides in the first scene, (1.1,1.2,1.3,1.4,1.5) would I be right thinking that slide 6 would be Scene 2 slide 2.1 because my publishing window turns black at slide 6 and slide 26/26.
Thx

Hi Chad,
Good question...
How SL handles its compilation is somewhat a mistery (Non-linearity). At the end it is optimizing slides and images, it might well be that this goes wrong. If you like you can upload the source and we can all have a look at it

Sorted now thanks, I just took the opinion that storyline would publish in a linear fashion so deleted Slide 6 and everything worked! Amazing, sort of leaves me pondering why one slide can be corrupted?
Thanks Anyway

Great !
Thanks for the update Chat54 and I'm glad that you were able to publish your file successfully. As Geert mentioned working off your local drive is one of the recommendations to prevent odd Storyline behavior which could cause corruption in the file or even a slide.
