Publishing Storyline to mdl2.com

Sep 11, 2014

Group:

I am having difficulty uploading my Storyline file to mdl2.com.  I published my program initially to a zip file.  A colleague told me to then select imsmanifest from the file.  I saved this file and then went to select it after I had completed the initial steps in the process that I was instructed to do.  I keep getting a message after I select the imsmanifest file that reads:  Syntax error unexpected end of input.  When I attempt, as an alternative, to upload the zip file, I get a message that reads:  Application/xml filetype cannot be accepted.

Can anyone help me out?  What are the correct steps in the process to get my course up and running in mdl2.com?  I find little to nothing when I google the question.  As an aside, are there references on how to use mdl2.com?

Many thanks,

Russ Holbrook

Hi Russ and welcome to Heroes!

You'll typically want to upload the entire contents of the published output folder or the zipped folder to your LMS. You'll also want to make sure that you have followed the directions here in regards to publishing to your LMS. If your LMS requires that you identify a single launch file once you've uploaded your content, the file to point to is index_lms.html.

I have not seen any references here for how to use mdl2.com, but it looks to be based on Moodle - have you looked on their site or reached out for assistance?

Hi Russ,

Once you have followed the instructions above from Ashley and generated a valid SCORM zip file you can follow the info here on how to add the package to Moodle:

https://docs.moodle.org/en/SCORM_settings#Adding_a_SCORM_package

here's a video that takes you through an older moodle release but it is still very similar:
