Publishing to LMS issue

Feb 17, 2016

Hi just wondering if anyone has had any experience publishing to the LMS learnflex ? For some reason I am getting an IO or http 404 error when trying to upload content. These packages are uploading without a problem to course sites(open source blackboard)  so I am a little stumped. I have made sure all files names etc are simple, tried re zipping and renaming with no joy. Any ideas gratefully accepted.

cheers

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

I would recommend testing your package by uploading to SCORM Cloud and see if it works. If it works there, the issue may be a setting within your LMS. Here is a good article on Troubleshooting using SCORM Cloud, and another with some further techniques for general project troubleshooting.

If your package uploads normally to SCORM Cloud that would indicate that your file is okay.

Have you reached out to your LMS team to see if they had any thoughts?

Hi, Shannon -- I agree with the suggestions Bret has offered, and if you can confirm that you are following the steps outlined here for Publishing a Course for LMS, testing in the SCORM Cloud would be you next best bet. Please let us know your findings, and you are always welcome to  share your file if you'd like us to take a closer look. :)

How did it turn out Shannon? Some other things to consider:

Since it is not a Blackboard product, I would try other instances of Scorm such as 2004, and when publishing the next time choose Reporting and Tracking and select under "LMS Reporting" in the field "Report status to LMS as:" select "Completed/Incomplete".  You could also try giving the scorm package a shorter title in both "LMS Course Information" and "LMS Lesson SCORM Information" fields, and even if there is a quiz attached to the file try selecting under the "Tracking" tab "Track using number of slides viewed" for now since we are just testing opening the module file.

Sometimes LMS's don't like colons and special characters in the title or have a length requirement...
