publishing using Chrome

Apr 15, 2014

I've recently had to switch to Chrome and now when I publish our LMS is not able to launch the training.  When I switched back to IE, it launched fine.

Any ideas of why this might happen and what I can do differently?

Hi Nancy and Anum,

Can you both share what version of Chrome you have installed? Also, which LMS are you using to host your content?

If you haven't already, it may help to upload your content to a different server and test the content in Chrome to confirm it's not an issue with the way the content is displaying in the LMS.

I recommend using SCORM Cloud to test the course, if possible.

If you still have trouble, you're welcome to post your .STORY file here. We can take a look and test this on our end in Chrome.

Thanks!

I downloaded Google Chrome 25 and the LMS we're using is SumTotal.  However, even when I publish and then try to run the training from the Output folder it doesn't load.  So, I don't believe it's an LMS problem.

Unfortunately since everything we have is proprietary, I'm not allowed to test in SCORM Cloud and I can't post it either.  Sort of ties my hands, but it's company policy.

Hi Nancy,

I'd recommend testing it on a server if possible, not locally. SCORM Cloud content is private, unless you share it. Even when you share it, those you invite will have to log in with their email address and name - you certainly don't have to share this information with anyone, unless you decide to do so.

I completely understand if you'd prefer to keep the content private. If you'd like to upload the file here, we'll keep all content confidential and we'll be able to test the file on our end. Just mention my name when you submit the case and it will be assigned to me.

If you're still unable to share the file, perhaps you could recreate the issue in a new project file that doesn't contain any of your organization's information or content. That, or you could remove the restricted content from the original project.

Please let me know if I can be of any help with this.

Thanks!
