Quality of icons and pics decrease

Jun 03, 2019

Hello there! My name is Nutsa. I am working on my first e-learning course. Think I am dealing it well so far :)

Only problem I am facing right now, my designer is drawing icons and pics for the course (Using Illustrator). When I insert these icons and pics, their quality significantly decrease. What should I do to keep the quality high?

Please, find attached files.

Hello Nutsa,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing along with an image and .story file to compare.

I published the single slide represented in the image, Slide 2, and uploaded to SCORM Cloud.

Take a look at the output here. Are you seeing the issue with reduced quality? If so, what environment/browser are you using?

I did notice that your image dimensions are 2000 x 1497 and your Story Size is 720 x 540.

One of our first tips in our documentation here is to use images that do not have to be resized.

Dear Leslie,

Thank you for you reply. I use Chrome. still see the difference, but not that significant.

I just got back to my course and found out all the text I had on slides have changed their position and they look like that (find attached file).

Did I do something wrong? or what has just happened?  :(  I am gonna launch my course tomorrow and I am in panic I guess :(

Katie Riggio

No need to panic, Nutsa. We got your back for a smooth launch!

What happens when you open a new project file and import all the slides there? (Here's how!)

If the repositioned text is still there, could you share the new .story file so I can take a closer look? You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by using this upload link. I'll let you know what I find, and will delete it after troubleshooting.

Thanks for the additional information, Nutsa.

So you were not importing slides, but copy/pasting from file to file?

We typically advice importing slides to prevent any unexpected behavior, so that could be what you were running into.

If you see this again, please let us know. Glad that you were able to get this taken care of in the meantime.
