Question about layers in Video and Quiz interactivity

Sep 26, 2016

Hi - I'm new to Articulate Storyline!  I'm building an interactive course that plays a video, and quizzes the viewer along the way.  My video is on the base layer of Slide 1 (slide properties of: Slide Advances automatically and Resumes saved state), and shows a Question 1 slide layer (slide properties: Pause timeline of base layer) at a cue point.  That Question 1 layer has a button on it that jumps the user to a new Quiz 1 slide.  Quiz 1 slide is a multiple choice question with infinity tries, and when you click the correct response you get a Continue button that when clicked on, takes the user back to Slide 1. When the user clicks play, the Video resumes.

My issue is when the video resumes, I want the Question 1 slide layer to be hidden when the Video resumes.  I have tried a Trigger to hide the slide at a Cue point, but for some reason it does not work.  I have also tried to change the state of the button on it to hidden when the Video reaches a Cue point, but that does not work either.

Any ideas for a newbie?  Thanks, Susan

Hi Susan,

Is the play button on the slide layer or on the video itself? Could you look at using a trigger to hide the layer when the user clicks the button that takes them to the quiz? You may want to share a few slides from your .story file so that folks can take a look at and play around with your set up. you can attach it here using the "add attachment" button at the bottom of the reply window.
