Question Banks Duplicating Questions

Hi,
I am having an issue with the question bank duplicating the same questions. I checked and confirmed these questions are not duplicated in the banks. I am at the point where I just included all questions and it is set to choose each question only once. It is set to pull questions randomly and regardless of the number of questions asked, it still duplicates questions. Is anyone having this issue? Is there a way I can transfer the questions in the question bank to indiviual slides without copying and pasting?

Hi Cheryl,
I think we'd want to take a look at your .story to see how you've set it up to pull the questions. If you're pulling from the same question bank at a later point in the course, Storyline treats it as a brand new pull and therefore could pull the same questions again as a duplicate.
Hi - I am having the same issue. I have 42 questions in the bank and have it set to Draw Questions Randomly and include All questions. Should that be set to 1?
Hi Eric
you don't by chance have the questions in a scene as well as in the Question Bank do you? I have seen some users with this setup and of course it displays duplicate questions.
Hi Wendy,
I have one question in the scene but that question is not in the Question Bank. I have my own timer running and other scripts that I found wouldn't work unless I had the first question static. Does having any question in a scene cause duplication to occur?
Thanks!
Hi Eric,
I can't think of another situation that would cause this, but it may be the custom scripts you're using? I can't necessarily offer support for those, but if you want to share the file here with us or send it along to our Support Engineers we're always happy to take a look and test it out.
I wonder if I found a bug! Perhaps just having a static question along a question bank confuses the program somehow. The question is not in the question bank as I'm sure that would duplicate it. When I test, some of the questions duplicate while others don't. Since it's pharma, I would have to strip out the regulated stuff first before uploading an example.
Not sure I'm doing anything out of the ordinary. I have a timer that users layers/triggers to run (found it on this site), scripting layers to show what avatar was selected by the user, scripting for scoring- if a user gets type a question, total points are multiplied by 10, no change if its incorrect; if type b question, multiplied by 5 and -5 if its incorrect. There are other scripts that look at the answers and show a correctLayer or an incorrectLayer.
I will try to remove the static question and just have all questions from the bank only. I'll create a separate slide to start the timer - that was giving me a problem when it started from the question bank. I have the bank set to random and to include "All" questions for the draw.
Thanks, Eric
Thanks for the update on what steps you would like to try, Eric, and if issues persist and confidentiality is a concern, please note that our Support Engineers would be able to sign an NDA if necessary if you'd like to share your file via the link Ashley shared above.
I am having the same problem as Eric. I have a question bank of 116 and drawing 49 questions randomly. Several of my students claimed they received the same question twice. I just ignored their claims until I began analyzing the exam results more closely and found that several questions were appearing twice in the individual exams.
Sorry that's happening, Joe! I'm happy to take a closer look at this. Can you help me with a few more details?
I am using Storyline 2 with its latest updates.

The learners are seeing the same questions more than once during their first attempt at the exam. They do not have a retry available.

Thanks for those details, Joe. I'd like to have our Support Engineers weigh in on this, so would you mind sharing a copy of your file with our team? You can send it privately by clicking here. We'll give it a test and let you know what we find!
Also, it looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email! No worries, this Peek video will show you how to remove it. :)
