Question feedback - default "correct" and "incorrect".

Jul 09, 2014

Hi there,

I'm currently creating a question in which none of the answers are necessarily correct or incorrect. So I don't want the feedback to have the "correct" or "incorrect" words on them.

Is there a way to edit these?

Thanks for any help!

If you only want to change the feedback title for one questions, click the Correct layer (1) then click the feedback title text box (2) and type your message. First image in attachment.

If you want to change the feedback title for all the assessment questions, open the player (1), select Text Labels (2) and change the message in the left column (3). Secondf image in attachment.

Hope this helps you.

Another way to tackle this is using the Feedback Masters. You can modify the entire look of your feedback using the master including using a different button style and moving / removing or changing elements. In this example, the design had some text heavy feedback. I like to minimize mouse travel so I build quiz templates with the stem on the left and choices on the right. I hide my own custom submit button until a choice is made.

The submit button appears on the same side as the choices.

And the feedback appears at the bottom of the screen. This uses a modified feedback master. I like to have the feedback NOT obscure the stem or choices. Also like to position the continue button in the same place as the submit button. Minimizes jetting the mouse all over the slide. This layout won't work for all questions or question types but it worked well in this case.

To get to the feedback masters, select the View tab then pick Feedback Master.

The background elements are at the top of the layout structure for your question masters. The correct / incorrect / try again layouts contain independent text elements and a button element. In my example above, I moved the button template element off of the slide and created my own button with the same triggers that the template item would generate. To remove the Correct / Incorrect titles, you may want to simply move them off of the stage rather than delete them. I've seen funny things happen when template elements are missing.
