Question slides don't format correctly

Aug 12, 2020

Hello,

I've found that when I enter mulitple choice or multiple select question slides, if I make changes to the formatting, of the answers and distractors, the formatting does not take for all states of the correct answer. For example, I usually like to add some space between the answer and the bullet. Then when you play back the slide, the correct answer appears closer to the bullet than the distractors. You can fix this, by checking the states and manually updating each state, but you shouldn't have to do that. On occasion, I've also found that the correct answer will pick up one of the other distractors in some of the states, instead of the correct answer that is shown in the Normal state.

I'm including an example with the formatting error for you to look at. All I did is create the question and then change the left margin for the text boxes on all four answers.

Thanks for the explanation and the sample file, Dave.

I can see the issue you are reporting in your example, but I'm struggling to recreate it.

Can you specify how you changed the left margin?

I added a second slide to your project and followed your steps, but I'm not seeing the same issue. If you can record a quick Peek 360 video, that'd be helpful as well.

Hi Leslie,

With the slide on slide view, I select the answer or distractor. I then right-click to open the context menu and select Format Shape. Then I select Text Box, and click in the Left Internal margin box and change the setting to 30px and click close. I go through and set all for distractors, and then click into the gray area outside of the stage to de-select. From there I preview the slide to see if it is functioning correctly. This is usually when I first see the error. It doesn't appear everytime, but does so more often than not.

Thank you,

Dave
