I'm adding a layer right above the baselayer, the new layer is 13 seconds long while the base layer is 2 minutes long. I'd hate to keep dragging the timeline for all the scenes I was wondering if there's a quick shortcut for this?
It sounds like you were looking for a more streamlined way of adjusting the timeline duration in Storyline!
Adjusting the timeline duration on a global scale is not a feature that exists in Storyline yet. However, it sounds like an interesting concept I can share with our product team!
In the meantime, as a workaround, I would suggest using the Duplicate feature to match the timeline of the layer with the base layer.
Set the timeline of the base layer to your desired length.
Right-click on the base layer and choose 'Duplicate'.
The resulting layer will have the exact timeline duration of the base layer.
Select elements from the duplicated layer using CTRL+A, then right-click to delete them. You'll notice the elements will be removed, but the timeline length will be retained.
