Quiz
Jun 28, 2023
We have a multiple choice quiz of 20 questions and when we want the student to only do the ones they got wrong after the first attempt if they get any wrong. I have tried put the trigger in that is suggested in all the material but when I do my results page comes up after the first question. This occurs when the trigger has the Reset only incorrect questions ticked. Remove the tick and it all flows but the student has to answer all 20 again. Any thoughts ideas would be appreciated.

Interesting issue. I am not able to replicate it in a new build. Is this a story you can share?
We worked it with some perserverence and it came down to numbering in the triggers. We now have a problem that when they return to complete the ones they got wrong it goes back to slide 1 regardless if they got it correct.
Stewart, are you using a custom navigation scheme (i.e., your own Next and Back buttons)? If so, that's likely the problem. The "Reset only incorrect questions" feature only works with the Player's built-in Next/Back buttons.
Ok Thanks Steve. I will have a look and see. Is there a way to tell if they are custom or player. I was given this already built but it needed tweaking.
There are many ways to do this but probably the easiest/quickest way is to grab a screenshot of the lower right corner of one of your quiz slides and post it here. We'll be able to tell by the size/style and location of the Next/Back and/or Submit button.
I have had the reset only incorrect work with using custom buttons instead of the player buttons, long time since I did it, I am sure it should work
I think it works in Classic but not Modern, Phil, at least not lately. I'll see if I can find the post where Articulate confirms this.
Thanks Steve, good to know. I was sure it was working in the past, here's hoping I don't have to republish a course for a client where it was working.
I found this:

It's not the post I'm thinking of but Joe's response about custom navigation buttons makes sense.
And in another thread:
"...please check the Slide Properties for your question slides. If the revisit option is set to 'reset to initial state,' then when the timeline starts on the slide (during review), the slide will reset to not being answered and show the incorrect banner."
Thanks Steve, will have a play later with an old project to see if that breaks
Have added a snip of the arrows from the bottom of the slide.
Yes, those are custom navigation buttons, Steward. You can open the slide properties and turn on the default Next and Previous buttons, but of course that might be odd to have your Player go from custom buttons to standard built-in buttons.
Thanks Steve. I will see what I can do.
