I am getting started in Storyline and created the content of my course fine and built a short quiz, containing multiple choice questions. but when the user fails and trys again?
Check the Slide Properties for the questions. For quizzes, it's usually best to use "Automatically decide" for revisiting, because Storyline knows how to handle questions based on whether they're being answered or reviewed.
Also check that the "Reset results" trigger wasn't somehow disabled/deleted. Or it might have been moved after the "Jump to" trigger, which means it won't run. Your Retry button to ensure it's got triggers similar to these triggers and in this order:
