Hi Richard and welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community. The first thing I would check is the timeline to see if your background image ends before the end of the timeline.
Depending on how the background image was added you might need to check the timeline in the Feedback Master (View»Feedback Master) or on the Correct and Incorrect layers themselves. If that looks ok you could also check to see if the background image has any Exit animations applied to it. That would show up on the animations tab when the background image is selected.

hmmm. Did you make any changes to the feedback master? Could you upload the slide that's exhibiting this behavior so the community could take a look?
