Quiz questions aren't showing in course

Feb 25, 2019

We have an online course that has an assessment at the end consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions. Latterly some of our delegates don't experience the questions on the screen, they just see the template screen with the character, just no text. This means they don't complete the assessment they need to pass for accreditation. This doesn't happen for all delegates, and there is no consistency in the delegates who don't experience the assessment with browser/devices etc all very random. The course hasn't changed, it's the same install we have had for over a year now. Has anything happened in Storyline (3) recently that could have created this issue. We are strugging to find any explanation.

Hi Helen,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know what you are seeing in your course. This does not sound familiar.

With your permission, I'd like you to share your project file with our support engineers to investigate what's happening. You can share it privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.

If you could share one viewing environment for us to replicate when you share the file, that would be helpful.

The course is one we bought off the shelf. As I mentioned it isn’t happening to all our learners, and I just wondered from a technical knowledge point of view, what would prevent the interactivity of those questions on a slide that work for one person but not another. Is it a combination of browser version, device, I need to get an understanding of why this is just happening after it’s been working fine for a year. That’s why I asked if there had been an Articulate Storyline update that may have caused this conflict.

Hi Helen,

I can appreciate that it's frustrating when only a few learners are running into an issue, especially when you're unable to replicate the behavior yourself.

There hasn't been a recent update to Storyline 3 that would cause this issue, so I wouldn't consider that to be the culprit.

Next time you hear a report about this, let us know which browser and version the learner was using. We'll be standing by – and if we can find a trend, that will help us nail down what’s going on here!

Hi Lucy,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing.

It looks like we have been unable to replicate and we did not get a copy of Helen's course.

With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
