I am currently building a module in Storyline 2 which contains a large number of screen recordings. While the file size isn'that great(83.4mb) Storyline keeps crashing, causing a continual loss of work. It seems from an error message that the reason is a lack of available RAM. The laptop I use has 4gb of RAM.
I realise that there are recommended specs for running Storyline but my current laptop fulfills these. So I'd like to know if anyone has any suggested laptop specifications which will ensure I can continue to build problem free.
Sorry you're hitting these snags when working in Storyline, that's not what we'd expect to happen if you're meeting system requirements! Let's see if we can nail this down.
Is it possible that you’re working from somewhere other than your local C: drive? Working from a network drive or a USB drive can cause a few different problems, and you can read more about that here.
Let me know if you're already working locally, and I'll start a case for you so we can take a closer look. 🙂
The issue seems to have now been resolved by the IT department increasing my laptop RAM to 8GB. I haven't had any other issues since.
My laptop did previously meet the system requirements and I always saved work to my C: drive, as I was aware of the problems associated with saving over a network.

Hi Ali
Thanks for getting back to me.

If the problem occurs again I will let you know.
Thanks for the update, Rebecca!
I'm glad it's running smoothly again and please do keep me in the loop if that changes. ☺️
