Recording audio help. URGENT please!

I am going to be recording some audio for some e-learning this afternoon.  I have plugged in our new microphone and have worked out how to change the default to the USB microphone (as shown in this link. https://community.articulate.com/articles/using-the-audio-tools#options )

However, when I then go back into the audio options, it has defaulted back to the original built in laptop microphone.  How do I get the default to stay?
