Recording slider positioning

Oct 17, 2014

Hello

I'm a bit of a newbie to Stroyline 2, and am currently pulling my hair out a little, which I think is down to my own lack of knowledge! Any help is appreciated.

I have a pick many question on a slide, with various triggers to flag up if the user has picked more than the value I set. Underneath this pick many is a slider that lets the user put the question into context for them (e.g. they answer the pick many then use the slider to say how relevant the question was to them on a scale of 0-100 in increments of 10). I am truly stuck with how to report the value of the slider as well as the users pick many results on clicking the submit button.

Totally desperate to get this to work!

Thanks

Toby

Hi michael

Yes need it to report to the LMS. So I can record what answers they selected in the pick many, and where the position of the slider if. Don't need to use the selected values on a later slide. Only record it in relevance to the pick many question its on.

i will try and upload the file in the mean time (just need to change the information on it).

Hi Toby and welcome to Heroes,

The value of variables is not something built into Storyline's LMS reporting - although I've seen a few people set something up with Javascript so hopefully they're able to share that with you. You may also want to look into method such as the one detailed here- although this is for text variables and won't work for numeric variables, you may be able to set up something similar if you use the value of your variables to adjust a question slides selected state or something similar.

You may want to share what you have started so that the community could take a look at what you have and potentially help start an example for you.
