I have an imported powerpoint file and some of the bullets imported with underlines. If one is underlined on a slide, they are all underlined. I can remove the bullets and the underline goes away. The underline is never under the sentence text. The only way I have found to remove the underline is to create a new text box and retype everything.
I have had the same issue several times and have never found a way to
remove them. I always end up deleting all text, creating a new text box,
and start all over.
I would like to see a fix for this as it does happen fairly often when
importing PowerPoint documents.
I have not seen a file with this behavior yet to check it out. Would you be able to share your files for us to take a look? If you cannot share here in the forums, you are welcome to share here privately.
I can see the underlined section of bullets in your file, but can't seem to recreate the same behavior in a new file. Do you see that automatically when adding in bullets to all your files? I wasn't able to remove the lines from your existing bulleted listed, but I could add in a new set of bullets in a text box and then i saw that the "underline" was selected and I could unselect it to allow for there to be no underline. I'd look at starting a new .story file and also confirming you're working with files as described here to prevent other odd behavior.
Are you able to narrow down any specific steps of how it happens or what you're doing just before you see it? It's difficult to report to our QA if I don't know what actions are causing it to occur or if I'm not able to easily reproduce it myself.
Thanks Dmitry. If you run into it again and can identify the steps that you were doing before hand, please let me know and we'll continue to try and reproduce it.
I was struggling with this same issue today. I did find one way to get rid of the underlined bullets without too much extra work. I applied one of the Shape Styles (select the text box and apply one of these styles from the Format tab) and the underlining disappeared. Of course it changed other formats, but I didn't mind in this case.
Thanks Thomas for sharing that here and I'm glad you were able to find a solution that worked for you. Were you able to determine any steps to reproduce the underlined bullets?
No. I tried to reproduce the issue by doing some bullets in Storyline 1 and then converting to SL 2, but it didn't happen. I'm guessing that SL2 is just picking up some formatting coding that SL1 didn't.
It could be possible - with Storyline 2 we included a new text formatting engine to improve the overall text clarity. I typically recommend if you're copying in text from another program or application that you can paste it first into Notepad which would remove all the extra formatting and then copy/paste that into Storyline directly.

Hello Merritte,
Welcome to the community. Please make sure that you are working locally with all of your files, including the PPT file. Have you seen this happen before? You may want to run a repair of Storyline if this issue persists over numerous files. Also, you may want to import the SL file into a new file to see if this helps.
Hello Merritte,
Did you solved your problem, because I met the same one ?
Frédéric
Hi Frederic! As you can see here, I have no update on Merritte here. Did you go through the troubleshooting that Emily shared above?
I'm having the same issue.
Hi Lynn! I have no user response on these issues. Did you utilize the troubleshooting that Emily shared above?
I tried unsuccesfully....

I followed the same way Merritte... deleting and re-creating !
Are you working in Storyline 1 or 2? If anyone has an example to share, please share here with our team to take a look at.
V2... hummm i'm wondering if i already sent you an example via email, not sure, but at this moment I don't have another one...
Working in storyline 2. Don't remember ever having the problem in storyline
1. Don't have any current examples, will post on if I get one soon.

It is a BUG that appears sometimes. The only way to fix it is to create new text field.

I dont't know the reason of such behavior too. It just happens sometimes.
