Removing effects and fills

I downloaded storyline 2 and I'm not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but I can't remove the fill from a marker and I can't remove the effects from a check mark.
I created my on nav bar using the markers, and I removed the fill and the fill border so when you click on the button the fill portion doesn't show. When I preview it I still see part of the white fill box.
Also, I added a check mark box to a slide. There are no effects on this box, but when I preview it, when you hover over the check mark box it glows. I've removed all the effects and it's still glowing.
Any suggestions?

Hi Cindy
for the marker I think you need to check the 'Audio only' box on the marker > format tab
for the check mark see if there is a 'state' with that glow going on
Yeah. that didn't work. Not sure what's going on with it. Also having issues with triggers. I have four triggers on a slide, and every time I change one, it changes the other three to match
Do you want to upload the story file so we can take a look.
Here ya go. Thanks. I figured out the trigger issue, but I still can't remove the fill from these marker buttons. Never had this issue in storyline 1
Here ya go...you didn't have the check mark in 'Audio only' option against the marker...
Hi Cindy.
To remove the effects from the check box (looks like it's the Hover state you want to change):
Hope it helps!

I really appreciate the help guys. I have one more issue and I'm hoping you guys can help with that too.
I created a timeline. I watched a video and it works..well not quite. there are three objects on the timeline. there are three layers that go with those objects. if you click the object it goes to the corresponding layer and you should see the triangle on the timeline. I made it do that by changing the initial state on the timeline of that layer, but if you continue clicking the buttons you will notice that sometimes they take you to the wrong slide. it's confusing i know. Not sure where i went wrong.
Hello Cindy!
I was able to correct this issue by setting the layer properties to Upon Revisiting "reset to initial state" The timeline with the arrows seems to be working with any click now. Attached is an updated file.
OMG thanks so much. Forgot all about that. You're awesome
Thanks for the update Cindy and glad Emily was able to assist!
Hi Cindy!
Glad this helped!
