On my quiz screens, I have removed the Try Again layer and did not realize that the number of attempts was set to 2. When I previewed the project, submitting an answer sometimes took two clicks and sometimes took only one.
Eventually, I realized that it was the incorrect answers that required two clicks, which is what prompted me to also look at the number of retries that were configured.
Is there a way for a trigger that is looking for a non-existent layer (such as an incorrect answer submission when multiple retries are configured and no Try Again layer exists) to produce an error or message so we are alerted that we must change something?
Let's see if we can help you out though. Assuming you do want multiple tries on questions, what would be the experience you wish for the user to have? You mention an error message or alert - which could be done on a layer, so just trying to understand :)

Hi Sue!
Yes, that's what the Try Again layer is for.
