Reset multiple variables to default values for using in subsequent quizzes
Jan 22, 2016
Hello everybody,
I'm producing an E-Learning course with Articulate Storyline 2; it's featured by more quizzes in every single module. For the first quiz (quiz 1) in the first module (Module 1) I used a Count and many True/False variables for implementing trigger interactions with the buttons within several slides.
I have a question: Which is the slide (es. Result Slide) and the exact place in "Slide Trigger" window in the quiz 1 for wich I must insert the javascript reported at https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/reset-multiple-variables-to-default-values discussion to be able to resetting the variables to default values?
This in order to be able to re-use them for a next quiz within the same Module 1 and next quizzes in subsequent modules avoinding to create new ones by increasing the variable numbers corresponding to the progressive quizzes in the course every time.
Finally, is there another way to achieve this goal?
Thank a lot.
Have a nice day,
Filippo

Hi, Filippo -- Thanks for reaching out here! As you have mentioned using JavaScript, I wanted to note in case you weren't familiar, we are unable to provide support for JS coding or modifications. Hopefully our JS gurus in the community are able to share their expertise to assist you further. Here is also our JS Best Practices sheet if you'd like to take a look!
Thanks Christie 😃
So....there isn't another way to reset variables to their default "values" without repeat the same "name" added to 1 for each subsequent quiz....and You don't know where (wich slide in the corse) can i insert the code to reach this aim.... Isn't it?
Goodnight 😃
Hi, Filippo -- Thanks for your reply! I wanted to reach out to let you know that unfortunately, I am unable to provide support for any coding modifications. I will need to defer to the community to assist you further.
Great question Filipo,
This is a situation that many of us face. I'll look for a solution and get back to you.
Hey Stephen and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
JavaScript is not something I'm savvy with, but if you come up with a solution, I'd love for you to share.
It may not help Filippo, but it could certainly help someone that wanders across this thread in the future.
