Reset Table of Contents after restarting course

Feb 08, 2023

Greetings!

I have the Table of Contents set up to where the first topic is disabled and when the timeline of the TOC audio ends, the first topic is in Normal State, but all other topics are disabled. Each topic goes to Normal state when the previous topic is completed (which shows a checkmark).

After the user takes an assessment 2 times and fails both times, they must click the RESTART COURSE button to retake the course. How do I reset the entire Table of Contents so it goes back to the original state (just as if they would be starting the course for the first time)?
Thank you in advance.

Hello Paktolus,

Thanks for reaching out!

To achieve this effect, your slide will have to be in the 'Reset to initial state' revisit behavior in order to have the option to restore the state of the slide to its default one.

I understand that using this revisit behavior presents some design issues since you need your learners to be able to revisit the Table of Contents at least twice before everything gets reset. A way around this to use variables to track which states the items in your menu need to be in so you can use them in combination with triggers to track items that have already been viewed.

If you're willing to share a copy of the project file you're working on, I'm sure members of the community will be willing to share some of their design ideas with you!
