I am going to have a go at this. Because currently I am using a new layer to use the reverse motion path when you click on the motion path object. However, I have had to set the original motion path to hidden when use clicks on thre object to display the reverse motion path. And one thing I have noticed is that because the first motion path becomes hidden, you can't replay that animation which doesn't help my situation at all :)
I will have a go at this Nancy and let you know how I get on.

Have you tried changing the state hidden and then to normal?
no i haven't, but that doesn't seem to make any sense.
I want the object which started at point x, and moves to point y, to reset to point x at the end of the motion path.
i think you would need another motion path to move it back then, I though hide and unhide may reset it.
guess I was just hoping there was a reset to orignional position option of some kind.
i know... make a feature request.
Sorry Ari that there isn't the functionality you're after, but I could see lots of folks also being interested in that as a feature.
Hi Ari - here are the steps to reverse the animation:

Maybe this helps.
I wanted to reset Object1, 2 seconds after it had completed its motion path.
On slide 1:
Create Object1 with an associated motion path.
Create an Object2 outside of the visible slide area and assign a 2 second object path to it.
Trigger Object2 on completion of Object1 motion path
Go to slide 1 on completion of Object2 motion path
The downside is the slide is totally reset, not just the Object1 motion path
